DON MILLAR

Don Millar is a filmmaker and lens-based artist whose work explores art, culture and the forces shaping our world.

He writes and directs documentaries that provide a definitive record on their subjects. Loot: A Story of Crime and Redemption investigates the criminal network that exploited child soldiers to loot Cambodia’s ancient temples. Botero is an intimate portrait of Fernando Botero, one of the most recognized artists of our time.

Millar’s work is international in scope and his range extends to short films and Art Snap, a digital series exploring art, artists and new ideas.

His filmmaking is informed by a longstanding involvement with contemporary art. He has served on the board of the Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver and as an Ambassador for Het HEM in Amsterdam.

Before turning to filmmaking, Millar worked as a business and political consultant, advising clients in financial services, hospitality and energy, with a particular focus on sustainability initiatives.

He is the founder of New Theory Pictures.
